  Justice Gertrude Araba Esabaa Torkornoo Monies given out to influence judges don't go to judges - Justice Torkornoo May - 26 - 2023 , 13:14 Chief Justice nominee, Justice Gertrude Araba Esabaa Torkornoo, has advised the public against the practice of giving monies to certain individuals to be given to judges to influence their rulings. She said the supposed monies on many occasions actually do not go to the judges but end up in the pockets of the said individuals who collect them. Answering a question during her vetting today [Friday, May 26, 2023] by the Appointments Committee of Parliament, Justice Torkornoo, said the perception that judges can be influenced with money is alien to the legal profession and should not be tolerated by the public. OKADA ACCIDENT CLAIMS THE LIVES OF 2, PUTS 1 OTHER IN A CRITICAL CONDITION AT WASSA ATEIKU* The 3 persons are all residents of Wassa Adaase in the Wassa East district of western region. The assembly man for Adaase electoral area Hon. Stephen Ahianyor explained to Nana kwame  Essel of Sweet Fm that, there were a total number of three persons on an Okada motto bike including the Okada rider which was heavily loaded with boards (woods) at the same time from Wassa Ateiku to Wassa Adaase. Just after a few minutes ride, they met another car also coming from Wassa Adaase to Wassa Ateiku. Because the Okada rider was on a top speed and also heavily loaded, he suddenly lost steering control and subsequently collided with the oncoming vehicle. All the three people on the Okada motto bike instantly went into comatose who were quickly rushed to Ateiku Christian hospital. COMMUNITY SHOWED BLESS ON CHIEF INSPECTOR

Detective Chief Inspector lsrael Dziwornu Gati was born in Accra to Togbe Amenyedzi Gati of blessed memory and madam Alice Amedofu all of Battor.  Israel attended Dzemeni RC primary school. He continued to the L/A JHS in same community and then had his senior  Secondary education at PEKI all in the South Dayi District of the Volta Region.   In 2003 Israel was enlisted in to the Ghana police service. He passed out from Ho Police Training school with  96 others as recruits  constables on 30th August 2004.  After graduation, Israel was posted   to Denkyira Wawase on 15th. October 2004 in theTwifo Praso District of the Central Region.  Initially, Israel thought bringing him to  Wawase was a punishment due to the state of the  station in those days but unknown to him that it was  a blessing in disguise  to prepare him for a bigger task.  Gradually he became a criminal investigator  and in January 2009 he was confirmed as Detective by Director General CID.  In the year 2009,  his station off
