3 SHS students Drown at Daboase

 





3 FORM ONE STUDENTS OF DABOASE SENIOR HIGH TECHNICAL SCHOOL DROWN IN RIVER SUBRI IN THE WASSA EAST DISTRICT*


The sad report from the Daboase Senior High Technical School in the Wassa East district of western region suggests that three male form one boarding students who are offering Technical Course have been drown in River Subri. The sad incident happened yesterday around 4:00pm.


The media spoke with the District Chief Executive of Wassa East district Hon. Emmanuel Boakye who explained that, the boys numbering 7 left the school without the knowledge of the school authorities to swim in River Subri which is heavily flooded due to the recent continues downpours where three of them were drown.


Their bodies have been deposited at Efiakwanta morgue in Takoradi.

Study finds dangerous cancer-causing chemicals in meats cooked with burnt car tyres

A joint study by the African Centre of Excellence in Public Health and Toxicological Research (ACEPUTOR), University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, has revealed alarming levels of cancer-causing chemicals in meats singed using tyres. Published in the journal Environmental Health Insights, the study found that meats singed with tyres contain high levels of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), particularly a harmful chemical called Benzo[a]pyrene, which is known to increase the risk of cancer.
