The nation came together to celebrate the maiden edition of the National Prayer and Thanksgiving Day, a brainchild of H.E. John Dramani Mahama. This initiative aims to express gratitude to the Almighty God as a country, marking July 1st, the day Ghana gained it republic status from colonial rule in 1960.
The Twifu Atti-Morkwa District, with Twifu Praso as its capital, was abuzz with celebration. A large crowd gathered at the St. Stephen's Methodist Church for a special worship service. Notable attendees included Hon. Isaac Kofi Yawson (current DCE), Hon. Samuel Yaw Agyebi Kessie (former DCE), Mr. James Pra (NADMO Director), the police commander, assembly members, clergy, and chiefs.
The program kicked off at 7:30 pm with great enthusiasm. The former DCE, Hon. Samuel Yaw Agyebi Kessie, praised the President's initiative and called on the public to support him. He commended the current DCE, Hon. Isaac Kofi Yawson, for his inclusiveness, citing his own invitation to the celebration despite being from a different political party.
The current DCE, Hon. Isaac Kofi Yawson, expressed gratitude to Hon. Agyebi Kessie for his support and promised to continue improving educational infrastructure in the district. He appealed to the public to support the government, putting aside political differences, and encouraged Ghanaians to have a renewal of mind to support the district's development.
