Stop sleeping on the job’ – Linda Ocloo calls out failing MMDCEs

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the performance of some Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the region, accusing them of complacency and inefficiency.

Speaking during an engagement with the media and MMDCEs in Accra on Thursday, August 28, 2025, Madam Ocloo said the failure of certain chief executives to deliver on their mandates was undermining the government’s efforts to address the region’s pressing challenges.

“Let me go straight to say that I am disappointed at the level of inefficiency and complacency exhibited by some of our chief executives. At this stage, excuses are nothing but an embarrassment to the people we serve,” she stated.

According to her, leadership is not about occupying office or enjoying the perks of a position, but about delivering results.

Leadership is not about sitting in offices and enjoying the perks of your position. It is about delivering results, and right now, many of you are simply sleeping on the job,” the Minister charged.
