Epiroc and Golden Star Wassa Mines Boost Education in Wassa East District*


In a significant show of support for education and community development, *Epiroc Equipment Ghana Ltd* has made donations of learning and sports materials to selected schools in the Wassa East District of Ghana's Western Region. *This donation was made possible through the  facilitation and collaboration of Golden Star Wassa Mines, the  mine where Epiroc works as a subcontractor and Setters Investment Ltd as it's Key customer on the mine site.* The beneficiary schools, Kubekor D/A Primary and Juabeng Roman Catholic School, received a comprehensive package of educational materials and sports equipment.



The donated items included *branded* exercise books, pens, *ruler* school bags, mathematical sets, water bottles, footballs, jerseys, volleyballs, handballs, football pumps, sanitary pads, whistles, pencils, erasers, A4 sheets and two 4-in-1 printers and other . Madam Rhoda Aboagye, Human Resources Business Partner at Epiroc Ghana, reiterated the company's commitment to supporting education as part of its corporate social responsibility.


"We believe it's our duty to help build the future of our generation," she stated. "Investing in education is one of the most effective ways to contribute to community development." Madam Aboagye also highlighted the importance of sports in nurturing students' talents, which inspired the inclusion of sports items in the donation.



The donation ceremony was attended by chiefs, elders, teachers, and opinion leaders from the beneficiary communities. Mr. Ibrahim Osman, Circuit Supervisor, received the donation on behalf of the Wassa East District Education Director and expressed heartfelt gratitude to Epiroc and Golden Star Wassa Mines for their continued support.


Mr. Osman noted that the donation was particularly timely, coming at the start of a new academic term when many parents face challenges in providing learning materials for their children. He urged teachers and parents to ensure the donated items are used responsibly and appealed to Epiroc and other corporate organizations to continue supporting education in the district.


This initiative is part of Epiroc Ghana's broader efforts to deepen its social impact through partnerships that promote education, youth empowerment, and sustainable community growth.


On behalf of Epiroc *Team* , Madam Aboagye expressed sincere appreciation to the Golden Star Wassa Mine, Setters Investment Ltd. for the collaboration and to the Chiefs, Elders, School Management & PTA , opinion leaders for receiving the kind gesture warmly.
